Viu Manent in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate 2015
January 2016The prestigious wine guide The Wine Advocate, from the famous wine critic Robert Parker, published a detailed report on Chile highlighting our ViBo wines.
91 ViBo Viñedo Centenario 2013 The very balsamic nose of the 2013 Vibo Viñedo Centenario is captivating and showy. This blend of two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec is very different from the similar blends I tasted from Argentina. It’s produced from centenary vines; this is a serious red blend, juicy and floral, very fresh with fine tannins, good length and a velvety texture. 16,536 bottles produced. 90 ViBo Punta del Viento 2013 The 2013 Vibo Punta del Viento started off a little closed. It is a blend of 71% Garnacha, 16% Monastrell and 13% Syrah — a Mediterranean blend from the Punta del Viento vineyard. There are notes of hay and straw, esparto grass and other Mediterranean herbs over a core of floral and red berry aromas. The nose takes time to take off, but the palate shows more freshness with fine tannins and a spicy, peppery finish. Ideal with food. Very good value. 15,840 bottles produced. |
