Rayuela

The wines in the Winemaker´s Selection series are extraordinary examples of the definition of their region and variety, which contributes to the complexity and personality of each wine. These are small productions made with premium quality grapes from specific sectors of the Colchagua Valley.

Tasting Notes
A bright and deep red color with glints of violet. The nose is expressive and very complex, with notes of ripe red fruit like black cherry and currant, followed by a subtle aroma of tobacco. The palate is balanced and well structured, with firm, silky tannins that add tension and texture, and are accompanied by fine walnut notes on the aftertaste, leading to a long, elegant finish.

Vineyard

The grapes for this wine come from a selection of the best sectors of blocks 1, 2, 3, and 4 of our La Capilla Vineyard near the town of Peralillo in the Colchagua Valley. These blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon average of 22 years in age.

Vineyard
These grapes come from the best sections of blocks 5 and 6 on our Fundo San Carlos estate,
near the town of Cunaco, in the heart of the Colchagua Valley. The vineyard was planted more than 100 years ago.

Tasting Notes
With a deep red color, the wine presents a complex nose with floral and spice aromas predominate, followed by elegant notes of black fruit like cassis and blueberry. The palate shows a fresh wine with silky, refined tannins and great texture that lead to a long, broad finish.

 

Tasting Notes

Deep and intense violet in color. The nose is complex, elegant, and fresh with a predominance of red fruits and sweet spices along with fine notes of olives and pencil lead that reflect its place of origin. The fresh and vertical palate is loaded with character with very good central structure, rich texture. Fluid and fruity with an outstanding long and mineral finish.

Vineyard

El Olivar, located near the town of Peralillo in the Colchagua Valley. The plantation has an average age of 14 years.

The Rayuela (hopscotch) is one of the most popular games worldwide. Its origin is uncertain, but it is related to linear games known in times of civilizations Aegean, Greek and Roman.

Tasting Notes

A deep, dark ruby-red in color, with a nose marked by elegant and intense aromas of red fruit, cassis, and berries, accompanied by subtle toasted notes. On the palate this wine is moderately concentrated, with tannins that are notable but ripe and well rounded at the same time. Presents a good balance of tannins, acidity, and oak that leads to a fresh and pleasing finish.

Vineyard

The grapes for this wine came primarily from the 60-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon vines of our San Carlos vineyard, located near Cunaco in the Colchagua Valley.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairing

From a great vintage in Chile, this Malbec is pure pleasure, with lively color and fruity aromas recalling plums and ripe cherries along with delicate floral notes and flavors of chocolate and vanilla. This flavor-packed wine with tremendous texture is excellent with all types of grilled or roasted meats.

Ideal served at 16º–18ºC.

Tasting Notes

Intense cherry red with a violet hue. The nose is complex and elegant with aromas of red fruits, cherries, plums, sweet spices, violets, and blonde tobacco. The medium-bodied palate is very well balanced and has fresh acidity. This is an intense and vibrant wine with character and a long, pleasing finish.

Vineyard

The grapes came primarily from the vineyards at our Fundo San Carlos estate near Cunaco in the Colchagua Valley. The blocks average 25 years in age.

Tasting Notes

Ruby-red with a violet hue. The nose presents great character and is marked by intense and elegant aromas of red and black fruits, berries, blueberries, cassis, plums, black pepper, damp earth, and blonde tobacco. The palate has medium structure with good balance and chalky tannins (typical of its origin in the La Capilla vineyard) leading to a long and complex finish.

Vineyard

La Capilla, located near Peralillo in the Colchagua Valley. The blocks of Carmenere average 22 years in age.

Tasting Notes

Light greenish-yellow in color. The nose is complex with aromas of green apple, citrus, and white flowers with a mineral note. The palate presents very good volume with excellent acidity and freshness as well as a subtle saline note that lends complexity and character of place.

Vineyard

The grapes for this wine come from a vineyard in the Litueche sector in the extreme north of the Colchagua Valley, 18 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. Its proximity to the sea lends a strong maritime influence that leads to long, slow ripening period that increases its great potential for quality.

Tasting Notes
Ruby-red in color with glints of violet. On the nose the aromas are of ripe fruit, principally red fruit like cherry and red currant accompanied by a subtle hint of black pepper. The palate shows a fruity character with firm tannins and excellent balance. The finish is intense and fresh with notes of fruit and spice that remain on the palate for a long time.

Food pairing
An excellent alternative for slow-cooked beef. Baked meat with roasted potatoes. Aged cheeses. Service temperature of 16–18ºC. Cellar up to 4 years.

Vineyard
From different Carménère vineyards in the Colchagua Valley, averaging 21 years in age.

Tasting Notes
Deep red in color with violet glints. On the nose the aromas are of black fruit, including black currant and blackberry, accompanied by a subtle note of pink peppercorn. On the palate the wine has a medium body, rounded tannins, and moderate acidity that lend the wine a nice balance on the center, adding a long finish with a hint of cassis.

Food Pairing
Versatile to accompany a variety of dishes from pasta to Chilean food like charquicán vegetable-jerky stew or Chilean-style corn humitas with onion and tomato salad. Spiced dishes. Service temperature of 16–17ºC. Cellar up to 4 years.

Vineyard
From multiple vineyards throughout the Colchagua Valley, a large part comes from our San
Carlos estate, located near the town of Cunaco, while another part comes from a more coastal area in Colchagua, near to the town of Litueche.

Tasting Notes
With a yellow-green color, clean and bright. The elegant aromas include notes of citrus and tropical fruit such as grapefruit and pineapple, together with a subtle nutty note. The palate is fresh and mineral with good fruit and a long finish.

Food pairing
Great with sautéed shellfish, crab and cheese gratin, Caesar salad. With cheeses like Brie or Camembert. Service temperature of 10ºC. Drink young.

Vineyard
The grapes for this wine come from two vineyards in the Colchagua Valley. The first is on the Fundo San Carlos property near Cunaco, where the blocks average 24 years in age. The second is in the Litueche zone just over 20 kilometers from the Colchagua coast, which lends freshness, natural acidity, and aromatic intensity to the wine.

Tasting Notes
With a pale yellow color, the wine presents fruity aromas on the nose like pineapple, white peach, as well as citrus fruits. It is fresh and balanced on the palate with rich acidity and minerality that gives tension with a long and fruity finish.

Food pairing
Ideal for seafood dishes like ceviche, oysters, and clams. With goat cheese or on its own as an aperitif. Service temperature of 7–9ºC. Drink young.

Vineyard
 Principally from our San Carlos vineyard, located near Cunaco in the Colchagua Valley. The vineyards are on average 17 years old.

Tasting Notes
With a deep ruby-red color, the wine’s nose shows fruit notes with aromas of blueberry and fresh cherry, accompanied by a floral note of violet. The palate is fresh with smooth, balanced tannins that give way to a long, fruity finish.

Food Pairing
Try with sweet and sour dishes like pork ribs, grilled hamburgers, or eggplant stew. Service temperature of 16–18ºC. Drink young, or cellar up to 4 years.

Vineyard
The grapes come from different Merlot vineyards in the Colchagua Valley, averaging 19 years of age.

Tasting Notes
A lively red color with glints of violet. The nose shows aromas of fresh red fruit including cherry, accompanied by a spiced note. The palate shows smooth, rounded tannins that add balanced and lead to a long, fruity finish.

Food pairing
Enjoy with pastas with tomato sauce or pizzas. Grilled chicken or vegetables with herbs. Service temperature of 16ºC. Cellar up to 4 years.

Vineyard
The grapes for this wine come from the San Carlos Vineyard in the heart of the Colchagua Valley. The blocks average 18 years in age.

Tasting Notes
Pale pink color. On the nose, the wine reveals elegant floral notes accompanied by aromas of white and red fruit. The palate is fresh, with nice tension and balance, with a creamy texture reminiscent of lychee. The finish is fresh and balanced, ideal to enjoy on summer afternoons.

Food pairing
A great alternative to accompany salads, and summer soups. Antipastos, grilled fish, shellfish paella. A great aperitif. Service temperature of 12–13ºC. Drink young.
