These grapes come from the best sectors of the Malbec blocks 5 and 6 in a vineyard planted more than 100 years ago at the San Carlos estate near Cunaco, in the heart of the Colchagua Valley.
Dark red in color, with aromas of black fruits, such as wild blackberries and blackcurrants on the nose along with subtle nutty and floral notes. The palate is fresh, with tremendous volume and sweet, round, elegant tannins leading to a pleasing and persistent finish. Ideal with grilled red meats such as beef or lamb. Best decanted and served at 16º–18ºC.
An excellent companion for game like wild boar tenderloin or venison. Intense dishes like fabada or cocido madrileno with sausages. Service temperature of 16–18ºC, ideally decanted prior to serving. Aging potential of 8–9 years.
